The Wind in the Willows.

I was really excited for this brief as The Wind in the Willows is such a lovely book and it reminds me of childhood so much. Firstly I did some research and looked at past Wind in the Willows book covers some were very dated and others were really modern.

Tomski & Polanski.

I really love these guys work, Black and white illustrations have always been a favourite of mine anyway but i like the quirkiness of these and how fun and free they are defiantly someone I strive to be as good as. the detail that they put into such a small space is incredible specially when they are only using two colours amazing work really enjoyed looking at it.

Final Product.
As the final part of this project we had to produce some sort of packaging. i struggled at first with what i could do that represented my design hero, i stuck to a very child like concept and finally with the help of a tutor came up with the idea of making crayon packaging. I started off by researching all kinds of different crayon packaging's and how i could really make mine stand out, I then moved on do doing some basic sketches of boxes and the way the crayons would come out and all that interesting stuff, after that i decided i wanted to go with creating my own characters in the style of Sara Fanelli so i got to work with that and i actually really liked my designs and it was real fun just letting go and not having to worry whether they looked perfect or not or whether the lines were perfectly straight. After designing my drawings i scanned them in and moved them in illustrator were i then planted them on top of a tea stained back ground and then printed them out and made them into a crayon holder mobile type thing.
